Best Online Math Study Resources
Not all websites are created equal! Here are some of my favorite sites for looking up math questions, sorted by grade level and topic.
There are so many mathematical terms with multiple meanings that it can be confusing to search for a topic on the internet at large. You might find yourself on a page for a graduate level college class called “Elementary Algebra”! (not kidding). I particularly recommend avoiding Wikipedia and Yahoo Answers.

High school:
BetterExplained – great intuitive explanations of algebra II, pre-calc, and calculus concepts
Purple Math – easily searchable by section, this site is geared toward algebra II and precalc levels
Maths is Fun – a British website (that’s why it says “maths”); very good for middle school math, algebra one, and geometry. Once you find a topic you are looking for it’s easy to look at related topics.
Middle school:
Math Antics – my pre-algebra students find the math antics videos clear and helpful
Fog Stone Isle – a great online game for practicing fractions in a meaningful way
Enrichment and All Ages:
Math for Love – lots of great activities at many levels, especially useful for a home school or math enrichment audience
YouCubed – based on the most recent growth mindset research, their content emphasizes the visual nature of math and creating connections between different kinds of thinking
